VASAP Groups
United Counseling Services is certified through the Virginia Alcohol Action Program (VASAP) to provide Substance Abuse Education (SAE) Classes, which is a 16 week program to help educate the individual on the signs and symptoms of substance abuse to assist the individual with understanding at-risk behaviors. This program uses certified research of substances impacting their ability to maintain appropriate behaviors. SAE Classes uses a resource model to meet the needs of the court, legal obligations, employment or any other requirement.

Drug addiction is when you can’t stop taking the drug even if you want to. The urge is too strong to control, even if you know the drug is causing harm. The addiction can become more important than the need to eat or sleep.
